The Socata TB9 Tampico from the French manufacturer Socata is a single-engine training and touring aircraft and belongs to the Socata TB series of light touring aircraft. This low-wing series also includes the TB10 Tabago and the TB20 Trinidad.

The maximum cruise speed is 115 kt. The aircraft has a service ceiling of 11,000 feet (about 3,353 metres) with a climb rate of 750 ft/min. With full tanks, a range of 556 NM is possible.

The variants of the TB series have been produced since the late 1970s. The TB9 had its first flight in 1979. The construction of the aircraft is mainly all-metal. The ailerons and flaps are of composite comb construction.

How does it fly? The French lady is a smooth and reliable airplane. Certainly she is extremely slow, but this leaves time for extensive explorations through the large windows. In limit situations, the TB9 doesn't really let herself be put out of her element and vehemently indicates that she no longer likes the actuel flight conditions. Once recaptured, then she continues unimpressed in the wind towards the target.

The Cessna 172, the most produced Echo class aircraft in the world. I don't think any other aircraft is more associated with private aviation than this machine.
